A Comparison of Hearing and Reading Comprehension of Vocabulary among High School Seniors

Mary Burton, Fordham University

Abstract

Learning is the mental process by which knowledge and skills, habits and attitudes, virtues and ideals are acquired, retained and used. All learning begins with sensory data. The sense organs are "the gateways of the mind". By means of this sensory equipment man becomes aware of the objective world which exists apart from and independent of the mind.
