A Comparative Study of the Educational Views of Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson

Abstract

This thesis purposes to do the following, first to investigate and state the educational views of these great men as found in their lives and writings, secondly, to compare their views and to show how each fostered. and advanced education, thirdly, to point out wherein Franklin and Jefferson anticipated present day tendencies, in American education, and the persistence of their views in the scheme of American education.
