The Adjustment Child in Junior High School

M. Francis Croke, Fordham University

Abstract

The object of this work is to chronicle a description of the adjustment child as we know him and to tell what methods are used in our attempts to "adjust" him. A mass of figures and statistics are available and could have bean included, but their inclusion would not prove anything. Rather might these figures have blurred the picture or obtruded themselves in such fashion as to throw into the background those parts we considered important. We have, therefore, kept statistics to the minimum and have attempted to give the reader a clear painting of the difficulties confronting us.
