Prevention of Crime by Character Education

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to propose an effective method to help prevent crime. Evidence is presented to show that most criminal conduct has its origin in child- hood. The efficient cause of crime is discovered as due to a distortion in the spiritual nature of man. Charac- ter Education and Formation is offered as a proportionate means to stregthen man's spiritual nature. This means, or method of Character Education in treating the cause of crime will help prevent anti-social conduct. Through- out the discussion is stressed, the value of the adage, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
