William Butler Yeats and the Irish Catholic Body

Brendan Morrissey, Fordham University

Abstract

This dissertation is not primarily concerned with Yeats' religious opinions. Nevertheless, for a better ap- preciation of his relations with the Irish Catholic body, Yeats' attitude toward the truths of the Church must be presented. Yeats' religious position in part explains his judgments on the Irish Catholic body.
