Abstract

Most social workers in child-placing agencies would agree that the availability of foster families has declined somewhat in the last few years, This should be of great concern to child welfare workers as well as to the community at large. With the increasing number of children in need of foster homes, the availability of foster homes in. adequate quantity is not keeping pace. This imbalance affects the kind of substitute care which has been provided for children today.
