The Bronx Jewish History Project (BJHP) is a local history project dedicated to bringing to light the experiences of Jews in the Bronx through oral histories and artifacts. In creating an archive of interviews, the BJHP gives a voice to Bronx Jews who have been excluded from histories of New York City and American Jewish life. The BJHP seeks to make the Jewish Bronx --- and its nuanced cultural, economic, and social conditions --- accessible to scholars, students, and anyone else interested in uncovering this important component of the rich history of the Bronx. The oral histories archive is accompanied by a repository of family archives and Bronx Jewish ephemera. The collection includes photographs, yearbooks, business cards, local publications, receipts, books, and other items.
