The Reconstruction Finance Corporation
Abstract
American history has for the past twelve years been a revelation to many. Such terms as New Dual economics, relief administration and government in business have startled the majority of our citizenry to the realization that the government can function in many other roles than the one generally assigned to it. The exigencies of these years have created a new theory and practice of government, founded in the belief that government funds and government credit should be utilized to bolster up and even to Initiate private enterprise. Back of this policy lies the recognition that the government has a responsibility in the matter of insuring an opportunity for livelihood to all citizens. The innovations trought about by this policy have aroused the nation to a growing consciousness of the versatile personality of our government.
