Abstract

Although Maurice Maeterlinck (1862-1949) was of Belgian nationality, his creative work was quite definitely a part of the French theatrical scene. In translation his work was of great international importance in the early decades of this century. From then until the present time the delicate and exquisite fancy of this poet has been immolated in anthologies of representative French and European drama.
