Syllogistic Reasoning as Modified by Training in Logic

Abstract

The purpose of the enquiry was to examine the differences between the performance of trained and of untrained subjects in the appraisal of plain-language categorical syllogisms, on the basic hypothesis that those with training in formal logic would be consider- ably superior to those without training.
