An Investigation of the Verbal Scores of Normal School Children on the McCarthy Psychological Appraisal Test
Abstract
Many tests have been devised and utilized for mental diagnosis and to aid in decisions regarding the education and the training of both normal and retarded children. Among these tests are the two more widely known and used individual intelligence scales, the 1937 Stanford Binet (Terman and Merrill, 1937) and the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (Wechsler, 1949)• However, certain weaknesses, which have not made these tests entirely satisfactory measures of ability, have been noted in both scales.
