Senator Foraker and the Brownsville Incident
Abstract
President Roosevelt, after receiving a report of the affair, approved the decision of the officers to remove the Negro troops. In November, following further investi- gation, President Roosevelt ordered the dishonorable dis- charge of the three companies involved. It was only then that the Brownsville episode became the focus for continual controversy.
