The Relationship Between Degree of Anti-Negro Prejudice and Type of Reaction to Frustration
Abstract
Civilized men today are gaining notable mastery over the material world and are rapidly learning to control physical suffering and pre- mature death. However, advances in the sphere of human relationships have failed in many ways to keep pace with those of the physical sci- ences. The average family in America now possesses previously un- heard of luxuries, yet as evidenced by the increasing divorce rate and rise in juvenile delinquency, family life has seemingly reached a high level of disintegration. The past decade has been witness to the genesis of man's control over atomic energy. It is indeed unfortu- nate that conflict between the peoples of the world may cause this newly acquired knowledge to be used in a destructive rather than a constructive way.
