America Foreign Policy and Colonialism in the United Nations: The Indonesian Question
Abstract
Entrusted with a position of world leadership, the United States of America finds itself today with commit- ments all over the globe. American diplomacy has been com- pelled to deal delicately with the intricacies of present- day international relations. Since the end of World War II, the American people have assumed the enormous obli- gation of reconstructing and maintaining the political and economic stability of Western Europe. In Asia and Africa, postwar problems have been complicated by the emergence of a dynamic nationalism which permeates the volatile politi- cal atmosphere of the colonial territories.
