The Canadian Contribution to the Drafting of the United Nations Charter
Abstract
The story of Canadian foreign policy runs through a bare thirty years. There is, of course, a long background of in- terest in many aspects of world affairs and of participation in some of them; but it is only since the first world war that constitutional development towards sovereign status brought with it the corollary that Canada should formulate and conduct her own foreign policy. Experience and participation in re- sponsibility has led to greater interest and Canada, drawn irrevocably into the main stream of international affairs, is now ready and willing to play a useful part therein.
