The Modification and Validation of a Personal Inventory for Nurses
Abstract
The Personal Inventory for Nurses is a measure of general emotional adjustment. It has been used to aid in the selection of those candidates for nursing school who may be presumed to have the greatest likelihood of success. The underlying hypothesis for this application of the inventory is that the overall adjustment it measures is consistently related to success in nursing, allowing prediction of the latter from inventory scores. The present study is an evaluation of the results obtained in testing this hypothesis.
