Parallel Allusions in Juvenal and Tacitus

John R. W Cahill, Fordham University

Abstract

It is the plan of this thesis to point out and compare from an independent study of the texts parallel passages in Juvenal and Tacitus, those in Tacitus being drawn chiefly from the Annals and hence dealing for the most nart with notices belonging to the period covered by that work.l Part one will consist of an introduction in which the lives of the authors are discussed, a comparison of them as men and as writers is made, and the chronological relations of their respective works are explained.
