Abstract

INTRODUCTION - The word education is derived from the Latin "educaren which means to rear, nourish, bring up; and like many other terms, has a broad and a restricted meaning♦ in its broad meaning education embraces all those experiences of the individual through which knowledge is acquired, the intellect enlightened and disciplined, the will strengthened and the personality integrated. In its restricted meaning, the term education is limited to that consciously planned and systematically guided formal training, directed and promoted through the various educational agencies, chiefly the school.
