Saint Jerome's Biblical Prefaces
Abstract
The sacred text in the manuscripts of the Latin Bible holds the very center of all scriptural study. There is, however, an important collection of historical introductions, appended to the various books of the Bible, which form a whole biblical literature by themselves. Among them we find the prefaces of St Jerome.
