Survey of Guidance Activities in the Ten Junior High Schools in Manhattan Having Licensed Counselors
Abstract
Within the past decade the Board of Education in New York City has established a bureau of guidance and placement under the supervision of Mr. Charles Smith. In keeping with its main objective of providing a guidance program in the junior high schools, the bureau has placed an educational and vocational counselor in many of these schools within the city. It was for the purpose of obtaining some quantitative n.na qualitative data on the activities of seven of these agents in ten junior high schools in Manhattan that the present survey was undertaken.
