Abstract
The life of Patrick H. Pearse was animated by three great ambitions: to publish a bilingual paper, to estab- lish a bilingual school and to start a revolution. He attained all three. At twenty-four he was appointed edi- tor of An Claidheamh Soluis; at twenty-nine he opened St. Enda's School; at thirty-six he was put to death as the Commander-in-Chief of the Irish Revolutionary Army.
