The Constitutional Relations Between the United States and Puerto Rico

Abstract

Puerto Rico was discovered by Christopher Columbus on his second voyage to America in the year 1493. By the right of discovery. Spain acquired the Island and fifteen years later, in 1505, Juan Ponce de Leon, the discoverer of Florida, became its conqueror and first governor.
