Abstract

The records of children placed for adoption between 1951 and 1953 were reviewed. Twenty cases were to be selected for study from the total number placed for adoption by the Associated Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark during this period. The purpose of the study was to determine, through interviews with the adoptive parents in the cases selected, how the adopted children in the family had adjusted.
