The Use of Medical Services by Welfare Recipients of Suffolk County, Long Island, New York: A Follow-Up Study of Children Whose Health Needs Were Identified Through Their Participation in Project Head Start, From July 1, 1965 - August 31, 1965
Abstract
This is primarily a follow-up study to ascertain the extent to which public welfare recipients of Suffolk County availed themselves of medical resources for their children once the health needs were identified through Head Start. It will also be concerned with the factors which facilitated or interfered with the use of medical resources. The characteristics of Suffolk County will be examined in some detail for a better understanding of the social and economic forces which existed at the time of this study. This will include a presentation of the provisions and facilities for public health care which is available in the County to meet the needs of the medically indigent.
