French Medieval Education

Norah Theresa Crowley, Fordham University

Abstract

The Story of a Nation as we conceive it, is read not only in its political annals, in the records of the battle-field, and the details of treaties of peace, but in its social life, in the development of commerce and in its intellectual development. Without pretending to exhaust the topic, I shall give in the foregoing pages a digest of the Education in France from the Sixth to the Fifteenth centuries, which I have gathered from many sources.
