A Social History of Bonnie Burn Sanatorium for Tuberculous Diseases, Union County, New Jersey: 1912-1947

Abstract

The writer has endeavored to present a social history of the sanatorium with emphasis of how it has continuously tried to meet the particular tuberculous health need of the community of which it is a part. A community is dynamic and to meet the changing and increasing needs or it, any 1nst1~ution within its realms must show its initiative. It is imperative that 1t· meet the demands expressed through community trends. Union County is identical in territorial possession today as it was in 1900. The growth in population, however, has necessitated the growth of the sanatorium.
