Departmental Teaching in the Grammar Grades: An Examination of Its Application in the Schools of Rockland County

Abstract

Departmental teaching has been accepted as the usual method of instruction in our high schools. In these schools it is not merely the best method; it is a necessity, except in those schools which give instruction in a limited number of courses to which the students must strictly adhere once they have begun.
