Published Annual Reports of Superintendents of Catholic Schools: An Evaluation of Some Reports
Abstract
It is the purpose of this study to analyze the published annual reports of the superintendents of Catholic schools in certain dioceses of the United States, over a five-year period: specifically, from June 1929 to and including June 1934. This analysis has been made with three fundamental questions in mind: (1) With what categories or aspects of Education do these reports deal? (2) How constant are such categories in the reports, and how extensive is their treatment? (3) How do the published annual reports of superintendents of Catholic schools conform with and measure up to the definite standards which certain thinkers and authorities in the field or school publicity have agreed upon as measures or criteria or worthwhile reports?
