Public High School Annexes of Brooklyn, New York: A Comparison With Their Main Buildings
Abstract
In studying the growth of the Public High Schools in the United States, one finds that the number of High Schools was practically doubled in the decade 1920-1950. In 1920, 24 per cent of the population, 14-17 years of age, attended Public High Schools. This percentage was increased to 46.6 per cent in 1950. On account of this rapid increase, it was found necessary to establish annexes.
