An Historical and Analytical Survey of Delinquency in the Elementary Schools of New York City, 1907-1934
Abstract
The purpose of this essay is to present a brief historical and analytical survey or delinquency in the Elementary Schools of New York City, with the aim or establishing the fact that delinquency, or the tendency thereto, may be discovered at an early age and may be prevented. The following definition of a juvenile delinquent, as stated in the Children's Court Act of New York City in 1924 and amended in 1926, will give the reader a clearer understanding or this problem and will show the treatment of delinquency by the municipal government.
