Case Studies of Normal Pupils in Slow Progress Groups

Irene Marie Dailey, Fordham University

Abstract

This study attempts to determine the possible effect of certain within-the-school factors upon the failure of pupils of normal intellectual ability. By within-the school factors is meant those conditions which are under the jurisdiction and subject to the control of the school authorities. It is admitted that home conditions, health, physical disabilities, economic status, and many other factors revealed in the records of the pupils concerned may be considered as contributing to these failures, but this study attempts to determine the possible effect of conditions within school control upon these cases.
