Extra-Curricular Activities in Catholic Secondary Schools: A Study of Selected Schools in New York State
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to discover and to set forth the status of extra-curricular activities in the Catholic secondary schools of New York State. "Status," in this thesis, embraces the following points: (1) what activities have been introduced and provided for in the three types of four-year high schools studied; (2) what relative numerical relation these activities bear to one another; (3) what percentage of the schools have introduced these activities; (4) whether these activities have changed from extra-curricular to curricular since their introduction; (5) haw many activities are curricular; (6) how many are extra-curricular; (7) the number of classes or organizations in each activity; (8) the enrollment and pupil participation in each activity; (9) the total enrollment or participation in all activities.
