Adolescent Sexual Behavior: A Study of Forty-Four Girls Known in Cases of "Rape Misdemeanor" to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Brooklyn, New York, 1964
Abstract
Adolescent behavior has taken on such a singular aspect in the past decade that it has left parents and society hard pressed to plan for it. This is evidenced by the earlier dating patterns of youth, the increased sexual permissiveness, the earlier marriages, and the increased out-of-wedlock pregnancies. But while these patterns become more widespread, society’s expectations of youth become more demanding. The trends are not reconciling themselves, although society continues to seek answers. It is my hope that this study of the sexual behavior of female adolescents will provide some significant information toward the understanding of the problem.
