The Puerto Rican Father: A Sociogenic Study of the Paternal Role in the Puerto Rican Family in New York City as Seen in Ten Male Adolescent Cases Serviced by Catholic Charities, Family Division, Brooklyn, 1964-1965

Abstract

Much has been written about the Puerto Rican immigrants to New York City. While many of these articles concern themselves with a variety of factors in the cultural and psychogenic make-up of the family, few of them had been directly concerned with the influence that our present day culture has on this group. In many of these studies this distinction is made between two kinds of immigrants: one which comes to the United States to make his home; the others concern the immigrant who has only temporary residence in the United States.
