Abstract
The emphasis on "needs," and on the importance of needs in the secondary-school program, has had the attention of those actively concerned with secondary education, A cursory survey of educational literature of the past quarter-century is sufficient to convince one that, although the literature reveals a diversity in emphasis on the challenging problems of the secondary school, the underlying current of educational trends has been in the direction of needs.
