Abstract

The discipline of psychiatry, that branch of medicine which is concerned with the study, diagnosis, and treatment of mental disorders, has been undergoing a rather drastic revolution in recent times. Modern techniques of psychological treatment, and innovations in chemotherapy have markedly shortened hospital stays of newly admitted patients.
