School Phobia: A Follow-Up Study of Thirteen School Phobic Children
Abstract
This descriptive study consists of a re-evaluation fiveto-ten years after the initial contact, of thirteen children diagnosed between 1958 and 1963, by the Psychiatric Clinic for Children, in Stamford, Connecticut, as presenting the symptom of "school phobia". Also, common characteristics of our sample are: a diagnostic study was completed, treatment involved the child and the parents, seen by two different therapists for regular interviews, both parents were living in the home, and at present, all the children are in the adolescence stage.
