Attitudes of Probation Officers Towards Various Types of Offenders
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine if probation officers have negative attitudes towards the various offenses for which a defendant may be placed on probation. And if so, how are these negative feelings kept from interfering with treatment. A failure to control negative feelings would not be consonant with one of the traditional tenets of social work, which is to provide services to those in need.
