Clare Marie Bright, Fordham University

Abstract

The current emphasis placed upon vocabulary usage is an indication of the recognition of its important role in language as communication. Through the medium of words, thoughts are phrased and expressed to others. The written word, particularly, is used in increasing proportion in the present day as an instrument for the communication of ideas. It is greatly desired today, therefore, to develop facility in the correct use of the written word.
