The Negro Middle Class: A Comparison Study of Ten Negro and Ten White Middle-Class Families in New York City, 1967-1968
Abstract
The purpose of this dissertation is to examine ten middle-class Negro families to discover what they actually see as their relation to white American society. As everyone knows, there has been a separation of the races which has existed for several hundred years. This separation was based mainly on colour, the black American being seen as an inferior individual, lacking the needs, ambitions and aspirations commonly accepted as usual when existing in the white individual.
