Abstract

The disease of alcoholism in the United States has become one of our major health problems. Latest reports indicate that there are five million known alcoholics and an estimated two million more who have not been brought to the attention of clinics for treatment. These reports also indicate that the frequency of alcoholism will increase and that the physical and social problems which are associated with the disease will also increase.
