Reaching Youngsters in a Summer Community Action Program: The Yonkers C.A.P. Program - Summer of 1967
Abstract
Over the past few summers, our large urban areas have been facing unrest by members of minority groups. This report will describe some of the activities in the city of Yonkers established in the summer of 1967 designed to avoid such conflict in Yonkers. Many city officials and residents felt this program contributed greatly in keeping Yonkers calm during the summer of 1967. Possibly this report might provide some insight as to some of the methods that kept a city calm and thus be helpful to other cities.
