Severely Disturbed Children in Foster Home Care: A Study of Twenty-Four Disturbed and Twenty-Four Adjusted Children, Angel Guardian Home, Brooklyn, New York
Abstract
Traditionally, child care agencies have primarily relied upon the professional services of social workers for the ch-ldren under their care. This recognition of both the competence of the field of Social Work, as well as the difficulties incurred by the children seems to have been reinforced through the years. As agencies have expanded to meet the needs of the growing number of children requiring care, the proportion of social service staff members has likewise been increased.
