The Unsuccessful Adoption Placement - A Study of the Factors Evident in the Personality Structure of the Adoptive Mother Resulting in Termination of Placement Prior to Legal Adoption
Abstract
Adoption in its simplest connotation of "voluntary acceptance of a child to one’s 1 self" dates as far back as the existence of the family• Conditions which give rise to the presence of children left 2 without natural parents, have always existed. In early society, even as now, there were relatives or friends who 3 would accept such children as their own. There is every reason to believe that children do benefit from such placements if the people who take them are understanding and well adjusted individuals.
