Abstract
Through the instrumentality of creatures Almighty God works out in many ways the salvation of immortal souls and by means of the humblest achieves the grandest results. This great truth has been verified in an especial manner as regards Saint Joseph Children's and Maternity Hospital. Originally conceived as the Foundling Asylum, the institution like all good works was begun and carried on amidst contradiction and crosses.
