Abstract

This dissertation concerns itself with a description and analysis of the preparation and process involved in establishing a United Fund in Eastern Union County, New Jersey. Eastern Union County is composed of the city of Elizabeth and the neighboring townships of Linden, Hillside, Roselle and Roselle Park. The offices of the Community Welfare Council of Eastern Union County are located at 135 Madison Avenue, on the second floor of the YMCA building. Until the early Spring of 1957, the Community Welfare Council offices were located at 426 Morris Avenue.
