Abstract
What is a child? He is a creature composed of body and soul, a human person with rights and responsibilities, made to the image and likeness of God. in the most holy and inviolable institution namely, the family, he is the fruition of the love of spouse for spouse and requires its protective and preventive services for several years before moving into the community on an independent basis. The Catholic Church constantly seeks to preserve this basic unit of society, which best serves the child's needs for love, faith, security and acceptance.
