Abstract

Background of the Study. The Story of the Second World War is necessarily the background of this dissertation, The official history as yet, has not been written but many published volumes have put into the record very many details of its destructiveness, its vastness, its vicissitudes. Historians will one day evaluate the whole with the perspective of time. For our purpose we may consider it as recent happenings, sufficiently personal to give an universal validity to our knowledge.
