Puerto Rican Children in Non-Puerto Rican Foster Homes: A Study of the Adjustment of Six Girls and Seven Boys Under the Supervision of the Catholic Home Bureau, New York City

Abstract

In this study the writer will follow up thirteen Puerto Rican children who were placed in foster homes of different nationality backgrounds. Statistical data concerning the children's backgrounds, the reasons for referral, placement experiences, in addition to other factors will be included. Descriptive and factual material of some of the cases will be presented to illustrate some of the problems that arise during the foster home experience.
