A History of the Catholic Charitable Bureau, Bridgeport, Connecticut, 1916-1951
Abstract
This research is a developmental study of the Catholic Charitable Bureau located at 250 Waldemere Avenue, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It is treated with a historical approach, to show the growth of an agency as the result of a need. While stressing the background and origin of this agency the writer will attempt to show how it is organized to help the Catholic people of Bridgeport, Fairfield, Stratford, Trumbull Easton, Monroe and Stepney to resolve many of their social problems.
